Hair Care, Styling & Growth

On the journey of growing my hair, I reached out to a few of my good friends (pictured below) to see how they achieved such beautiful, long, healthy locks!

Here are a few things that have helped contribute to my personal hair growth!

  1. Don’t wash your hair every day! I love the feeling of fresh, clean hair as much as the next gal, but shampooing it everyday strips your scalp of the natural oils needed to help your hair grow.
  2. Take your vitamins! You can google the science behind it, but taking a biotin supplement is a sure fire way to help contribute to your hair growth.
  3. Minimize heat! Duh, everyone knows this! Putting heat on your hair causes breakage & breakage leads to shorter, damaged hair.

DESIGNLINE Leave-in hair conditioner  This leave- in conditioner stands out to me because it has drastically contributed to the overall health/shine of my hair without weighing it down like other leave-in conditioners that I have tried.

But when I do put heat on my hair…

A few weeks ago my dear friend Kyra and I purchased new Sutra hair straighteners from a stand in the mall. After a few weeks of use, this is what I’ve concluded:

Although this flat iron heats up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, you have to run it multiple times over your hair to get it pin straight. Don’t get me wrong, once you have finished styling your  it leaves your hair looking silky, smooth & perfectly straight.  This particular straightener has “floating plates” so it doubles as a curling iron! All in all, I would give this product a rating of 7/10.
